Missoula Police Department extends its sincere condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones impacted by a fatal crash that occurred this afternoon.
Shortly after 1p.m. today, Missoula Police Department officers responded to a report of a crash on W. Broadway St. at the intersection of Maple Street involving a motorcycle and a van. A witness initiated CPR on the motorcyclist prior to emergency responders arriving on scene. Medical personnel arrived and continued life-saving efforts. The motorcyclist, a 32-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the van remained on scene and has been cooperative with the investigation. The crash remains under investigation by the Missoula Police Department.
West Broadway Street and specific lanes in the area were temporarily closed to allow for an extensive response by patrol officers and crash investigators. The roadway has since been fully reopened.
