Flathead County, MT — November 5, 2025 — Flathead County voters have approved the
Public Safety Facility bond in the November 4, 2025, election. The measure passed with 18,340
votes in favor and 13,568 opposed, securing approval with a 57 percent majority.
The County extends its sincere appreciation to the citizens of Flathead County for their
engagement and support throughout this process. This approval represents a significant step
toward addressing long-term detention capacity, improving working conditions for detention
staff, and ensuring the continued safety of the community.
“This bond approval reflects the community’s commitment to safety, accountability, and
responsible growth,” said Pam Holmquist, Chair of the Flathead County Board of
Commissioners. “We are grateful to the voters of Flathead County for investing in the
infrastructure that supports our justice system and community safety. It’s taken a lot of hard
work to get to this point. We’re thankful to everyone who took the time to learn about this
project, see the need, and finally make it a reality for our community.”

and participating in community discussions about the proposed facility.
With voter approval secured, the County will immediately begin the next steps toward design
finalization, bidding, and construction planning for the new Public Safety Facility. Updates,
