Happening This Week: Flathead Electric’s Annual Meeting and Energy Expo
89th Annual Meeting scheduled for April 16 at FVCC’s Wachholz College Center
KALISPELL, Montana — Flathead Electric Cooperative is hosting its signature event this week on Thursday, April 16 at the Wachholz College Center at Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell.
Free and open to all members of Flathead Electric, the Annual Meeting and Energy Expo serves as the Co-op’s premier gathering, bringing everyone together to connect with their Board of Trustees and Co-op staff and discuss the future of energy in Northwest Montana. The Expo opens at 3:30 p.m. and the business meeting begins at 5:30 p.m.
This event is designed for the whole family. Anyone who pays an electric bill to Flathead Electric Cooperative is a member-owner and invited to join the festivities. The Co-op is providing a complimentary dinner for all attendees and hosting a variety of engaging activities. From high-tech displays at the Expo to interactive opportunities for kids to learn about electricity, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Prizes, scholarships, and giveaways — including three $500 electric bill credits — will be awarded throughout the event.
Themed “Navigating Reliability + Affordability,” this year’s event arrives at a pivotal moment. As Montana faces historic growth and a shifting energy landscape, Flathead Electric leadership will provide a transparent look at the complex strategies being used to secure the region’s power supply while maintaining the affordability members expect.
“This is the most important date on our calendar,” said Mark Johnson, FEC General Manager and CEO. “Across our industry, and right here in Northwest Montana, we are navigating a period of rapid change. This signature event is where our members come to engage with leadership, understand the challenges we face together, and see firsthand how we are securing a dependable future for our community.”
This year, Flathead Electric leaders are encouraging members to submit questions beforehand, and Co-op staff will answer questions during the meeting. Submit questions at https://www.flatheadelectric. com/about-my-co-op/how-were- governed/annual-meeting/.
At the heart of the event is also the opportunity for members to connect with their Board of Trustees and Co-op staff. As a member-owned utility, the Co-op is guided by these locally elected leaders who live and work right here in the community. This direct access ensures that the voices of the membership remain the driving force behind the Co-op’s decisions.
