5th Ave Fire in Polson on March 16th, 2026

On Monday, March 16th, 2026 at approximately 1720 hours, Polson City Fire was
dispatched to the 200 block of 5 th Avenue West for a possible structure fire.
Arriving units found a single-family home with light smoke showing. The
residents of the home were able to self-evacuate. The fire was contained in the
basement of the home and is believed to originate from electrical issues.
Automatic aid engines from the Polson Rural Fire District were dispatched to
assist with fire suppression. A total of 26 fire personnel and 10 apparatus
responded to the scene. Fire operations continued until 18:30. There were no fire-
related injuries reported by residents or emergency personnel. Temporary
housing assistance for residents has been referred to the Red Cross with
assistance from the Polson City Fire Department Auxiliary.

The Polson City Fire Department will follow up with additional investigation on
Tuesday, March 17 th , 2026.
