Crews to begin restriping projects in Flathead and Lake counties

kalispell, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and Streamline Markings, Inc. will restripe sections of roadway in the Kalispell, Whitefish, Somers, Columbia Falls, and Polson areas beginning on Wednesday, July 8. The project is expected to last through the end of August, weather and unforeseen factors permitting.

 

All work will take place at night between 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews will work Sunday night through Friday morning in the following locations:

 

Kalispell

  • U.S. Highway 93 (US 93) from the Courthouse to north of Grandview Drive
  • Hutton Ranch Road between US 93 and West Reserve Drive
  • Old Reserve Drive from US 93 to the Reserve Place
  • U.S. Alternative Highway 93 (US Alt 93) from US 93 to the bridge over Ashley Creek
  • U.S. Highway 2 (US 2) from 7th Avenue East to the railroad crossing north of West Reserve

 

Whitefish

  • US 93 from Montana Highway 40 (MT 40) to Mountainside Drive

 

Somers

  • Montana Highway 82 (MT 82) from US 93 to east of Fennon Way

 

Columbia Falls

  • Nucleus Avenue from Us 2 to Railroad Street

 

Polson

  • US 93 from the intersection of Caffrey Road to north of Regatta Road

 

Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures and slow moving equipment during active work. Please follow all posted signage, watch for workers, and avoid driving on freshly striped lines. For the most up-to-date information regarding road conditions, visit MDT 511 Travel Info.
