October 8th Structure Fire in Polson

On Thursday, October 8th, 2024, at 12:20 PM the City of Polson Fire Department was dispatched to a possible structure fire on the 700 block of 5th Avenue E. Upon arrival, units found heavy smoke showing from the eves and window areas. Initial reports of trapped occupants were unfounded, and the resident was uninjured. The structure is uninhabitable. Red Cross assistance has been offered to the resident.  Currently the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Polson Rural Fire District was dispatched as automatic aid at the time of initial call. Additional units were requested from Ronan. Fire suppression, search and overhaul operations continued until 15:30.    A total of 36 personnel and 12 apparatus responded to the incident. No injuries were reported to any responding personnel.
